Mr F. P. Peirpoint
Dear Sir
I take this oppertunity [sic] of asking a favour of you I want you to send me a form of a pay roll for a Company. I see a notice in The Intelligencer stating that all Companys [sic] who have been called by the officials of the State or of the United States we were under Marching orders for Eight days last June agoing to and from Wheeling and then we were under Marching orders By General Brooks head quarters at Wellsville the time John Morgan was Captured- The Company wants me to try and get something for them if I Can I was stationed at Babbs Island under General Brooks order with 200 men and I had to pay out Considerable for provisions for them and I hope you will tell me in a short letter how to make out our bills or if I had better go down to Wheeling and see you Pleas [sic] tell me if it will be in order for me to present the bill for my Company or wether [sic] it would be the Clerk of the Regiment though the Clerk says that the Captains may present there [sic] own bills
Pleas [sic] write soon for the Company wants it attended to before the first of June Pleas [sic] write as soon as you get this and Oblige
