Biographical Note: Minnie Johnson was the daughter of Samuel C. Johnson and Flora M. Coffman Johnson. She went into teaching while still a student and graduated from Marshall College and George Peabody College for Teachers. Johnson taught at numerous schools in Greenbrier County before going to New Mexico in 1944 to teach for one year at a Native American reservation in New Mexico. After her return to West Virginia, she continued her teaching career in McDowell County and retired in 1964.
