Elk Shipped to Pocahontas County

The Republican News
February 7, 1913

Another car load of elk arrived Monday from the Yellowstone National Park and were taken to Minnehaha Tuesday. They were all fine stock and arrived in good condition, there are now about seventy on the preserve and ought to multiply very rapidly and we dare say Brother Lockridge will soon be selling elk meet [sic] to West Virginians in order to keep down the herd.
