WHEELING, Sept. 3---The expedition which left here on Sunday night, to ascertain the character of the rebel gathering in Marion county, returned here to day. They report that the outbreak has been much magnified in the importance. Before the Union troops reached Northing, which is some distance across the country from the railroad, the secessionists had disappeared.
