MENTAL FOOD FOR THE SICK SOLDIER - The ladies of Centre street are manifesting a commendable interest in keeping the soldiers at the Hospital, in this place, posted in the current news and literature of the day. Yesterday morning a large package of periodicals, illustrated papers, and home and foreign newspapers were distributed among the inmates, for which they were truly grateful, and profuse in their thanks to the liberal donors. The papers, etc., were seized with great avidity, and their contents devoured with a keen relish. We trust the example of the ladies of Centre street may be imitated by all those who feel an interest in the comfort and edification of our invalid soldiers.
