PROGRESS OF RECRUITING.:There is still no diminution in the number of recruits received at the Provost Marshal's office on Fourth street. Some where [sic] in the neighborhood of a hundred were received yesterday. We have already stated that the recruits now presenting themselves are of a better class than those received yesterday. (As evidence of this we may state that out of fifty five who presented themselves yesterday morning only five were rejected and these were boys of immature years and not fit for service. Considering that the examination of recruits as to cause complaint on the part of those engaged in procuring recruits, the fact we have just mentioned is somewhat remarkable.
