January 3, 1863
The body of a Soldier embalmed in a metallic coffin arrived at the Express office in this city several days ago, directed to Daniel Sweeny. As nobody called for the body, it was supposed to have been sent to the wrong place. It was accordingly stowed away and steps were taken to hunt up the parties interested in its safe delivery. Yesterday a Gentleman came to the office and claimed the body which was delivered to him. The body was that of a soldier who was killed at Antietam, and who formerly resided near Sistersville, in Tyler county , to which place it was shipped yesterday on the steamer Express. The body was buried on the battle-field of Antietam, but was disinterred some Months ago.
