New Government Barracks. - The Government is about to commence the erection of a new barracks one mile below Benwood. The barracks are to be frame work and plastered. The building will be ___ in regular fort style upon a nine acre lot, and the establishment will be commanded by a field officer. The barracks will be capable of accommodating one thousand men. The object of the erection of the building is to have a place for soldiers about to be mustered out, so that most of the military business heretofore done in the city will be transacted at the barracks.
