EDS. JOURNAL: I see by recent New York papers that Lieut. Joseph F. Hager, of the 7th West Va. Cav.; who was left at the battlefield of Droop Mountain, on the 6th of Nov., 1863, wounded, is now in Libby Hospital, at Richmond, Va.

This officer has suffered a great deal from the wound he received, and during his entire sickness he has been a prisoner in the hands of our enemies, Special efforts have been made for his release, which have proved fruitless. He is a resident of the Kanawha Valley.:His father, Rev. B. Hager, is well known as a good Christian and a loyal man, who has suffered much for his loyalty, and is no doubt ready to suffer more if necessary. All who are acquainted with the circumstances of Lieut. Hager's imprisonment deeply sympathize with him and his afflicted family.
