CAPT. THAYER MELVIN
March 23, 1865
CAPT. THAYER MELVIN, lately a prisoner with Generals Kelley and Crook, is on a visit to his friends here and in Hancock county. He looks well and feels well, and says that he suffered no harm whatever from his captivity. He gives us many interesting incidents of his trip. He say pretty much all the rebels from these parts. They talked little or no war talk with him, but were kind in their personal attentions.
