The Virginia General Assembly passed an act which incorporated the Horseshoe and Pheasant Run Turnpike Company to construct a road from Chisholm's mills in Preston County, to the head of the Horseshoe Run in Tucker County, to Samuel Rudolph's, to George Parsons', up Cheat River to the mouth of Pheasant Run, to the head of Pheasant Run, to the Beverly and Buffalo Turnpike at John S. Hart's. Subscription books were opened in St. George, Tucker County, under Rufus Maxwell, George Parsons, William R. Parsons, Job Parsons, and James Long. |
