Description:  The Cheat River Boom and Lumber Company was incorporated in West Virginia by the following: Henry G. Davis, Charles M. Bishop, T. B. Davis, Charles Hooton, and W. R. Davis. The company's purpose was establish a lumber business on the Cheat River near the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad bridge, Preston County.
