Description:  The Buffalo Creek Boom and Dam Company was incorporated in West Virginia by the following: John P. Jones, Scott T. Jones, William T. White, Burbridge Fraley of Cranberry, Preston County; and William Bell of Rowlesburg, Preston County. The company's purpose was to operate a lumber business at or near the mouth of Buffalo Creek at Cheat River in Preston County, with its main office at Cranberry.
