Description:  The Hulings Lumber Company was incorporated in West Virginia by the following: Marcus Hulings, William J. Hulings, Noah F. Clark, John E. Butler, George W. Darr of Oil City, PA; and William B. Maxwell of St. George, Tucker County. The company's purpose was to operate lumber mills in Monongalia County, Preston County, Tucker County, and Randolph County, with booms or dams across Cheat River within two miles below the mouth of Shafer's Fork in Tucker County and at other points on Cheat River and its tributaries. The company's main office was at Oil City, PA, with a branch at St. George, Tucker County.
