The Preston Telegraph Company was incorporated in West Virginia by the following: J. M. Chidester, William S. Armstrong, E. J. Bowermaster, T. W. King, J. S. Needrow, U. S. Bryte, John H. Keather, Joseph Feather, S. F. Conner, Jesse E. McGibbons, Annie E. Armstrong, Kate Armstrong, Lizzie E. Chidester of Bruceton Mills, Preston County; H. C. Hagans, R. B. Wadell of Brandonville, Preston County; J. A. Lenhart of Valley Point, Preston County; and L. M. Albright of Kingwood, Preston County. The company's purpose was to install magnetic telegraph of telephone lines from Kingwood to Albrightsville, Valley Point, Bruceton Mills, and Brandonville, all in Preston County, with its main office at Kingwood. |
