The West Virginia Legislature passed an act authorizing the incorporation of companies to establish lumber businesses with booms and dams on rivers or creeks in the following counties: Gilmer County; Greenbrier County; Summers County; Raleigh County; Fayette County; Mineral County; Pocahontas County; Pleasants County; Nicholas County; Webster County; Lewis County; Wetzel County; Jackson County; Wyoming County; Tucker County; Preston County; McDowell County; Randolph County; Barbour County; Mercer County; Logan County; Calhoun County; Braxton County; Cabell Counby; Boone County; Upshur County; Monroe County; Wood County; Ritchie County; and Kanawha County, except the Elk River and its tributaries in the county. Both houses passed the act over the veto of the governor. |
