Description:  The Horse Shoe Lumber and Boom Company was incorporated in West Virginia by the following: S. Hinkle of Weston, Lewis County; J. A. Hostetter, D. N. Shaffer of Rowlesburg, Preston County; J. M. Macomber of Macomber Post Office, Preston County; and S. Eberly of Mechanicsburg, PA. The company's purpose was to operate booms and dams on Horse Shoe Run about three miles from St. George, Tucker County, with its main office at Rowlesburg.
