Description:  The Deweing Boom and Improvement Company was incorporated in West Virginia by the following: W. S. Dewing, Charles A. Dewing, James H. Dewing, Jane A. Dewing, and James H. Mills, all of Kalamazoo, MI. The company's purpose was to operate booms and dams on the Cheat River and the Shavers Fork of Cheat River in Randolph County, Tucker County, and Preston County, and to improve the two rivers, with its main office in Beverly, Randolph County.
