| The Henrietta Marie travelled a triangle route, carrying metal bars, beads and other goods to trade in Africa for slaves. From Africa, the ship sailed with her cargo to the West Indies islands, where her human cargo was traded for sugar to take back to England. |

| The Middle Passage was the second leg of the route, where the ship carried her cargo of slaves for months across the hot Atlantic Ocean. Exhibit visitors can enter the hold of the Henrietta Marie to view some of her artifacts and information about the slave trade. |

| An exhibit like this can only give a visitor the slightest impression of what the Africans experienced in their voyage from their homes to slavery in the New World. |
