Voters of Clay Township, Shinnston, in Harrison County, met to elect delegates to the Parkersburg Convention.

Guerrillas in Marion County attacked the house of a Mrs. Anderson.

Guerrillas in Marion County attacked several more houses, demanding money.

A bounty jumper was captured by special detective Perry Tracy in Wheeling.

Confederate mail carrier Sallie Pollack, who had been sentenced to serve the remainder of the war in the penitentiary, arrived in Wheeling guarded by a Union officer.

Captain A. V. Barringer, Chief Commissary of Subsistence for the Department of West Virginia, was captured by Confederates between Martinsburg and Winchester but escaped during a subsequent skirmish.
