MORE OF JENKINS GUERRILLAS TAKEN - On Sunday last Jenkins and his guerrillas on their way back into Dixie, after the Point Pleasant raid, were attacked by the 2nd Virginia Cavalry upon the Mud Fork, not far from the Falls of Guyan. -
Two rebels were killed, twenty-eight were captured and about the same number of horses and guns were taken. The prisoners are now on their way to this city.
When Gen. Scammon, who commands at Charleston, Kanawha, heard of the arrival of Jenkins at Point Pleasant he sent the 2nd Virginia Cavalry around on the North side of the Kanawha towards Ripley, supposing that Jenkins would go out the same route by which he came in on the occasion of his former raid. Instead of doing so, however, the guerrilla chief struck up the south side of the Kanawha. The 2nd Virginia therefore, had to go back to Charleston and by hard marching managed to overtake Jenkins' rear at the place above indicated.
