House of Delegates met at 10 A. M.

Reports of committees were called for.
Mr. WILSON, from the Committee on Banks, reported a bill to regulate the salaries of the Cashier and other officers of the branch of the Exchange Bank at Weston; which was read a first time by its title and ordered to be printed.
Mr. HOOTON, from the Committee on Privileges and Elections, offered their report, setting forth the number of delegates in attendance, the examination of their oaths and certificates, and of their mileage, which report was laid upon the table and ordered to be printed.
Mr. RUFFNER, from the Committee on Propositions and Grievances, to whom was referred a resolution to inquire into the expediency of reporting a bill for the protection of sheep in the county, of Marshall, reported that the committee deemed it inexpedient, at this time, to legislate on the subject.
On motion, the vote laying on the table and ordering printed the report of the Committee on Privileges and Elections were reconsidered, and the report read and afterwards re-committed.
Mr. CROTHERS offered the following:
Resolved, That on Tuesday next, at the hour of 2 o'clock, this House will, with the consent of the Senate, proceed to the election of Brigadier General.
Adopted.
Mr. ZINN offered the following:
Resolved, That the Committee on Finance be requested to inquire into the expediency of reducing the salary now fixed by law for Adjutant General of the State.
Adopted.
Mr. FARNSWORTH offered the following, which was adopted:
Resolved, That the Committee on Finance be requested to inquire into the expediency of reporting a bill making provision for discounts on monies directed to be paid into the Treasury under the law.
Mr. WILSON offered the following:
Resolved, That the money taken from the Weston Branch of the Exchange Bank of Virginia be sold for currency and the premium be paid to said Branch.
Resolved, That out of the currency so obtained there be placed at the disposal of the Board of Directors of the Lunatic Asylum west of the Alleghany mountains thirty-three hundred dollars to pay for work done, service rendered and material furnished for said Asylum prior to July 1st, 1861.
Resolved, That the balance of said currency be deposited in some one or more of the depositories of the State funds to the credit of the Treasury of Virginia.
Resolved, That as soon as the state of affairs in the country will justify the prosecution of the work upon said Asylum, the funds heretofore applicable to that purpose, shall be applied to their proper object, and no other.
Referred to the Committee on Finance.
Resolved, That the Committee on Finance inquire into the expediency of providing by law for paying the Governor's Council.

House bill No. 9, altering the compensation of public printer and printer to the Senate, was read a second time and ordered to its engrossment.
Engrossed bills were taken up.
House bill No. 8, to amend the 33 section of Chapter 44 of the Code of 1869, in reference to the raising of temporary loans, was read a third time and passed.
House bill No. 6 prescribing the duties and fixing the compensation of Clerks in the Senate and House, was also read a third time and passed.
The House then adjourned.
