| For the Kennedy campaign, brother Robert was in Charleston on April 6, April 30, and May 10, and brother Ted came to Charleston on January 13 and March 19, and was in St. Albans on April 27. Franklin D. Roosevelt Jr. came on May 6. Eleanor Roosevelt spoke in Charleston on October 19. 
Humphrey aides filed his papers for the primary on February 4 and opened his campaign headquarters on February 29. His sister Frances Howard came to Charleston on March 19, and Goveror Orville Freeman of Minnesota and his wife campaigned at Charleston, Chelyan, Dunbar, and Institute on April 29.
